The Power of 3

#ToWitToWoo #TwinCitiesLive #PowerOf3

Did ya hear? I had my first debut on Twin Cities Live on Monday and let me just tell you, I FELT SO ALIVE! I could talk fashion all day long so this new monthly side gig of mine is giving me life. In case you missed it, here’s a recap…

For this first segment, we focused on the Power of 3 which is all about elevating a basic look by adding a 3rd piece to make it  feel more complete, polished, or thought out.  Two pieces are considered a top and bottom, and then the 3rd can be a jacket, vest, sweater, scarf, or poncho. Here’s the video to the segment to see it in practice…

You see what I’m sayin? There’s power in that 3rd piece, isn’t there? Full deets on each of the models are below in case you want to shop the looks!

– Look Number 1 –

This is Sue: Sue is a lady on the go! She needs looks that are low maintenance, but presentable. The athleisure trend is gaining a ton of momentum, and in my opinion is here to stay! It’s perfect for her active lifestyle. Here she is in her 2 pieces…

It’s a typical athletic outfit you would see someone wearing at the grocery store or at the gym, right? Side note, I hope I look half as amazing as Sue when I’m a grandma! Also, I should mention she is a recent breast cancer survivor and total badass. XO.

Pullover: GapFit ‘Breathe Pullover’

Leggings: Lululemon ‘All The Right Places Crop’

Sneakers: New Balance

The power in Sue’s 3rd piece is that it removes the question of if she’s coming or going to the gym, and looks more intentional or thought out as an athleisure outfit!

Bomber Jacket: Mossimo at Target (sorry, Ladies, this is nearly sold out already! Similar herehere and here)

– Look Number 2 –

This is my sister-in-law Cassie: Cassie is a stay at home mom with school-aged children. I like to say she is in the chauffeur stage of her life. She could be running the kids around all day long so she needs to be comfortable, but still wants to look put-together. Here she is in her 2 pieces…

It’s cute without sacrificing the comfort. Can we just pause for a second though and acknowledge how incredible Cassie looks? She fought an aggressive fight with breast cancer in 2016 and I am SO incredibly proud of the way she handled it with such grace. SHE is truly the one inspiring women everywhere! #FCancer

Gingham Button Up: JCrew (currently on sale and comes in 4 colors! Gingham is a classic print that is back in a big way this spring so get it while it’s hot!)

Floral Bralette: Victoria’s Secret (old, similar here and here for $20!)

Jeans: 7 for all Mankind ‘B(air)’

Sneakers: Converse Wedges (I just picked these up on sale at Macy’s and I am OBSESSED! They also look adorable with shorts and cotton dresses for the summer. Watch out, Stan Smith, Momma has a new friend in town!)

The power in Cassie’s 3rd piece is that it elevates her casual look to give it that put-together vibe she is striving for!

Drapey Olive Vest: Evereve (if you don’t own an olive vest yet, you need one. It’s my answer to almost any styling question! I love the lightweight material of this particular one as it can easily transition into the summer over a graphic tee and cutoff shorts or a cotton midi dress)

– Look Number 3 –

This is my Latin Soul Sister Paula: Paula is also a stay at home mom, but does work part-time outside of the home as well. I wanted to put her in something a little dressier she could wear to meet clients, or to Easter brunch with her family. Here she is in her 2 pieces…

Man, I have hot friends!

Button Up: Gap (also love this pre-tied one from Evereve)

Skirt: LuLaRoe ‘Cassie’ c/o Jen and Charlie (Greenery is the PANTONE Color of the Year for 2017 so you will be seeing all shades of green this spring! Jen and Charlie have a couple Sarah’s in a gorgeous green that somebody better snatch up before I do!)

Sandals: Sorel ‘Joanie’  (Sorel’s sandal game this year is STRONG! I’m debating between these gladiator ones and these wrap ones – leaning more towards the wrap, I think. Decisions, decisions…)

The power in Paula’s 3rd piece is that it adds an element of fun and feels a bit unexpected – which I love!

Embroidered Jacket: Evereve (also like this longer version from Express, and this one under $50 from H&M. Embroidery is everywhere this spring – embrace it!)

…and last but not least, here is my Power of 3 along with a glass of champagne and a perma-grin because I am on cloud 9, ya’ll!

#ToWitToWoo #TwinCitiesLive #PowerOf3 #BananaRepublic #Gingham

Sweater: Banana Republic

Blouse: Banana Republic

Armstack: Michele ‘Cape Topaz’ (watch) The Styled Collection ‘Screw N Lock’ (bracelet)

Booties: Dolce Vita (old, similar here and here or from Target here for under $50!)

Lips: Lipsense ‘Purple Reign’ c/o Long Lasting Lip Color by Jenny

That’s a wrap, Folks! Leave me a note with how you are incorporating the #PowerOf3 and anything else you want to see styled on the show – I’m all ears!
