The Palm Leaf Print Is Having a Major Moment

Mother Nature is clearly still on a winter bender so I am draping myself in botanical prints and all the things that remind me of sunnier days ahead while we wait for her to get her shit together. Patient I am not.

Speaking of mojitos by the pool, nothing says paradise quite like the palm leaf. This print is having a major moment in the fashion world. In case you missed this month’s Twin Cities Live segment, you can catch up below to see how I styled this trend and the hysterical exchange between Steve, Elizabeth, and I on how to go to the bathroom in a romper. Let’s just say I haven’t always made it out in time…

 – Look Number 1 –

Think of the palm print maxi as the free-spirited BFF to the floral dress. Take her on vacay or as your plus-one to a spring wedding and fun will most certainly follow!

Dress: Banana Republic (almost sold out, but I have lots of maxi dress options here, here, here, here, and here) | Belt: Target (old, but I like this one or this one with it) | EarringsBracelet (Cabi, old similar here or with a palm leaf here) | Shoes: Ann Taylor (old, similar here and here) | Lips: Nars ‘Vera’

– Look Number 2 –

This sleeveless blouse has endless styling options and can easily take you from the office straight through the weekend.

Tropical Blouse: Cabi c/o Breanne Stromley | Military Jacket (Cabi, old but similar here and here) | Tomboy Shorts: Cabi c/o Breanne Stromley (you could also pair it with a tie short here and here or these adorable pink and green striped shorts here) | Espadrilles: Treasure and Bond (under $100, comfortable, and comes in 3 colors!) | Lips: Aromi ‘Sweet Marsala’

– Look Number 3 –

If you aren’t sure if the attire calls for a dress or pants, go with a romper or jumpsuit. It’s the safest bet!

Romper: Boohoo (Under $50! It runs small so size up 1-2 sizes. I’d recommend ordering 2 sizes since they offer free shipping both ways on orders over $50. Rompers can be tricky on the fit so don’t be afraid to have it tailored if you love it. Also loving this romper and this Sanctuary Jumpsuit.)| Red Sandals (BCBG, old similar here and here) | Necklace (JCrew, old similar here)

“The palm leaf epitomizes California cool.” – Rachel Zoe

Kimono: $10 off your 1st Box of Style – $99 per quarter for a seasonal box curated by Rachel Zoe with a few of her favorite pieces valued at $400 (I also like this and this kimono for under $50 if that’s all you’re looking for)| High Waisted Boyfriend Jeans: Pistola ‘Presley – Rock or Bust’ (I bought them recently at Blue Bird Boutique in Edina. They have a good denim selection if you are local!)| Slingbacks: Zara (they come with a removable ribbon to lace them up when your outfit calls for a little more edge!)| Necklaces: stacked pendant and adjustable lariat by Gorjana worn as a choker | Lips: Fenty Beauty ‘Candy Venom’ (it’s so good, you guys!)

Pro Online Shopping Tip: Don’t limit your search with “palm leaf print”. There is a TON under key words like tropical, botanical, and banana leaf . Here are a few more trendy pieces I’m loving…

I could seriously add at least 20 more pieces, but my hand is killing me from scrolling so that’s enough for today. Let me know if you are looking for something specific in this print that I didn’t feature – odds are I’ve seen it!

Happy spring from snowy MN!

  1. Ummm….I found that leaf print on a bathing suit at Target! I wanted it so bad, but the one I tried on was a size small and that was the only one left. Ugggh! I had to settle for a boring black, but with cut outs. I guess that makes up for it?
